A. Chapuis’s monograph La montre chinoise examines Swiss watches made for China and the wider horological trade with the country. Covering watches, clocks and automata, it traces the roles of makers and merchants, particularly in Geneva and Val-de-Travers. Around 40 pieces from Gustave Loup’s collection illustrate the work.
