The Day in Watchmaking
Auction results and high-complication releases set the tone for today’s briefing. At Antiquorum’s New York sale, three F.P. Journe watches each topped $1 million, led by a platinum Centigraphe Souverain at $1.67 million. On the launch side, Urwerk introduced the UR-300 Time Quantum with a jumping T-frame satellite display in a grade 5 titanium case, limited to 25 pieces in untreated or black-coated versions. Habring² and SJX also unveiled the Chrono Felix Perpetual “Star,” a 30-piece monopusher chronograph perpetual calendar in stainless steel. Alongside these headline pieces, Glashütte Original presented two Senator Aventurine models in green and blue, Norqain added turquoise accents to the Wild ONE Skeleton X-Lite, and Christopher Ward expanded the Sealander Yalos with four textured dials and COSC-certified movements. Breitling, Citizen, NOMOS Glashütte, Farer and Chopard also added new models.

Habring² and SJX have created the Chrono Felix Perpetual “Star,” a 30-piece monopusher chronograph perpetual calendar in a 38.5 mm stainless steel case. It uses the hand-wound Habring² A11CP movement with a Dubois-Depraz perpetual calendar module, has a black dial with applied gold star markers and moon phase, and costs US$28,500 before taxes.

Christopher Ward has introduced the Sealander Yalos in four textured dial variants: Ice Blue, Salt Pink, Sand White and Sea Green. The coastal-inspired dials undergo a 20-step production process. The collection adds COSC-certified chronometer movements, redesigned cases and solid hands with baton markers, removing the lume used on the standard C63 Sealander.
Urwerk’s UR-300 Time Quantum introduces a jumping T-frame satellite display in a 45.2 × 58.8 × 18.25mm grade 5 titanium case, offered untreated or black PE-CVD-coated. Each version is limited to 25 pieces at CHF 168,000. Automatic calibre UR-30.01V runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour with twin barrels and a 44-hour power reserve.
Why it matters (interpretation): The new T-frame architecture represents a substantive evolution of Urwerk’s satellite display, coordinating multiple instantaneous movements rather than relying on its conventional rotating carousel.
